Richard Jefferies Award 2022

Many congratulations to Lee Schofield who has won the Richard Jefferies Award (sponsored by The White Horse Bookshop) for best nature writing book published in 2022. Lee's book Wild Fell, details his work as RSPB Site Manager at Wild Haweswater Nature Reserve in the Lake District.

Informed by the land, its turbulent history and the people who have shaped it, Lee and his team are repairing damaged wetlands, meadows and woods. 

Lee will be at the bookshop at 2.00 pm on Saturday 22nd July to collect his prize and talk about the book. Tickets are £5 each, to include a glass of wine (or something soft, on a hot summer afternoon...) and can be purchased here, over the telephone or in person.
