The deadline for entries into this year's Annual Open Art Exhibition is fast approaching! If you would like to submit a piece of work for the exhibition, but have not yet brought it in, you have until 4pm on Sunday 24th April 2022.

We are delighted to announce the return of our (normally) Annual Open Art Exhibition this spring!


As many of you will be aware, the exhibition is open to everyone and all work submitted will be exhibited (as long as it follows the strict terms and conditions listed below). HOWEVER, due to the very large number of entries which the show now attracts, I have decided to hold two separate exhibitions one after the other, rather than try and fit everything in to one. Which show each piece goes in will be purely dependent on the best fit. Please don’t make an entreaty for one rather than the other as the process will be complicated enough!

I am hoping that the shows will run from 30th April to 22nd May and 28th May to 19th June.

To submit your entry, please make sure it follows the rules below and bring it into the shop by Sunday 24th April. When bring it in you must pay your entry fee and provide your contact details, and the title and price of the piece.

The rules for this year are as follows:

  • Only one entry is allowed per person.
  • There will be a non-refundable entry fee of £10, payable upon delivery of the work. There will also be an entry form, provided by us, which will also need to be filled out upon delivery.
  • All work must be framed and no bigger than 50cm x 50cm when framed. This rule will be strictly adhered to.
  • All work must be original – i.e. not copied from someone else’s work. 
  • All work should have ‘D’ rings attached approx. 2 inches from the top of the sides of the frames, facing inwards (image attached to clarify this point). There is no need for wire or cord for our hanging purposes.
  • All work, for both shows, must be submitted by 4pm onSunday 24th April 2022.
  • All work must be for sale.
  • The White Horse Bookshop will take a 30% commission on any sales.
  • Small sculpture will be accepted but will need to be approved before submission – to ensure that it can be safely displayed.
  • There will be Private Views for both shows, but details about these will be sent out nearer the time.
